Founder Story

Prior to founding Appeal Templates LLC, I spent more than 13 years as an attorney fighting one thing: insurance denials.

I’ve seen every excuse, every loophole, every tactic used to avoid paying people what they’re owed. But nothing prepared me for what happened when my own mother was diagnosed with cancer.

Suddenly, I wasn’t just an attorney — I was a daughter sitting at the kitchen table surrounded by medical bills, policy documents, and denial letters that made no sense.

I watched my mom — a woman who had worked her entire life and paid her premiums — be treated like a number in a system designed to wear people down until they just give up.

And I realized something terrifying:

If this was hard for me, an attorney who does this for a living, what chance does the average person have?

That moment changed everything.

I started researching how deep this problem really goes — and what I found shocked me.

Every year, hundreds of millions of health insurance claims are denied, and only a small fraction of people ever fight back. Not because they’re wrong — but because the system is built to confuse them, exhaust them, and make them feel powerless.

So I made a decision that didn’t make sense on paper — but made sense in my heart.

I decided to build something that could help people fight back — affordably, simply, and with dignity.

That’s how AppealTemplates.com was born.

I spent months mapping out how health insurance denials work — state by state — identifying the governing bodies, escalation pathways, and laws that protect consumers.

I started creating letter templates and appeal kits that any person could use, without needing to hire a lawyer or understand legal jargon.

Each letter was built with care — the same precision I used for my own clients — but made accessible for everyone.

Because this isn’t about being clever or techy.

It’s about being angry enough to do something.
